Phuket Big Buddha, or The Great Buddha of Phuket, is a seated Maravija Buddha statue in Phuket, Thailand. The official name is Phra Phutta Ming Mongkol Eknakiri, shortened to Ming Mongkol Buddha. Sitting atop Nakkerd Hill near Chalong, construction began in 2004. Expansion of the base was ongoing as of 2015.

The Big Buddha is a magnificent sight with a spectacular view. The Big Buddha is free to visit, and there's no entry fee.

It is a long walk. You will find yourself climbing uphill, and on dirt, into the jungle where wild monkeys reside. Sometimes ropes were provided to help climb. When it's not too hot, it is best to start your climb early in the morning. (
